About Scilife
Scilife is a integral, remote-first team behind an eQMS software that enables life sciences companies to manage their quality processes digitally, stay compliant, and ensure continuous audit readiness.
We believe better technology leads to simpler, stronger quality management, and ultimately brings safe products to the market. At Scilife, your work helps improve how regulated companies operate every day.
About this role
Every customer relationship at Scilife starts with a first conversation. As our BDR Manager, you’ll make sure the right ones happen, and that every quality leader who speaks to us comes away with a great first impression.
We’re looking for a BDR Manager to build and lead our Business Development team in EMEA. Your team is the main source of new business pipeline for Scilife, so this role sits right at the heart of our growth. It’s a manager role with no personal quota: you succeed when your team succeeds.
You’ll own strategy and execution across all three pipeline channels:
- Inbound: qualifying the leads our marketing team generates
- Partners: qualifying leads that come through our partner network
- Outbound: building our prospecting engine from the ground up
Outbound is where you’ll make your biggest mark. It’s our least established channel today, and your key challenge is to turn it into a consistent, repeatable process that delivers 35% of the total company pipeline.
You’ll hire, coach and grow a team of BDRs, and help them build careers here, including the move into Account Executive roles.
You’ll report to our VP of Sales, who sets the territory, targets and priorities. How you get there is up to you.
What you will do
- Sales excellence: design and implement frameworks and playbooks to set the standard for every BDR touchpoint with prospects (calls, emails, LinkedIn, events and the handover to AEs), and coach the team to meet it.
- Build the plan: turn the company pipeline target into a 12-month BDR plan, covering who we target, channel mix, headcount and the numbers behind it. Review it regularly with the VP of Sales.
- Make outbound work: own the outbound strategy and playbooks, and make them repeatable across the team. Set the standard for reaching the whole buying group: Quality, Regulatory and Operations. Test targeting, messaging and channels, and roll out only what measurably lifts meetings and SQOs.
- Get the most from inbound and partners: inbound is the largest channel today.
Ensure every lead is worked fast and within SLA, set clear qualification guidance for partner leads, and work with Marketing and Partners to lift MQL-to-SQO conversion and shape event prospecting.
- Grow a great team: hire, onboard and coach your BDRs, with weekly coaching and a development plan for each person. Build a culture where people own and are accountable for their results and grow their careers.
- Lead with data: own the team’s SQO and pipeline targets. Build a BDR data layer that gives clear visibility of pacing against plan, linking leading indicators (speed-to-lead, connect and meeting-held rates, SQOs per 100 touches) to outcomes. Use it to forecast attainment, plan capacity and ramp, and adjust course before gaps appear. Share a weekly pacing view and run each QBR as a diagnosis and forward plan.
- Work as one team: shape the BDR-AE collaboration model to optimise territory penetration strategies, and maximise pipeline and handover quality. Co-design campaign briefs, ABM strategies and territory experiments with Marketing. Align lead routing and attribution with the VP of Sales and RevOps, and share insights across all channels to improve pipeline quality and conversion.
- Put AI to work: lead the AI and automation strategy for the department and the team across our stack (HubSpot, Salesloft, Gong, Clay and more). Take manual work away so your BDRs spend their time talking to prospects.
About you
What you bring
- You’ve led a BDR or SDR team in B2B SaaS for 3+ years and been accountable for its results.
- You’ve built or scaled an outbound function in a growing company.
- You’ve hired and onboarded BDRs yourself.
- You’ve written outbound playbooks: target customers, sequences, messaging and qualification.
- You run a regular coaching routine and can describe it in detail.
- You use data to spot problems early and decide what to change.
- You’ve led a remote team and you’re based in Europe.
Bonus points if you have:
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot, Salesloft and Clay, or similar tools
- Experience in life sciences, quality, compliance or another regulated industry
- German or French language skills
- Used AI in prospecting, such as signal-based targeting or personalisation at scale
- Run account-based campaigns together with Marketing
How we will get to know you
During the process, we’ll explore how you approach:
- Strategic planning
- Coaching and team development
- Data-driven decisions
We’ll also talk about how you live our values:
- All hearts and ears: you listen to your team and your prospects, and coach through feedback
- Healthy inside-out: you build a team that performs at a pace it can sustain
- Driven by evidence: you test, measure and keep only what works
- Outside of the box: you find new ways to reach the right buyers
Why join Scilife?
Join a team of talented, motivated people who share our values and a common goal: boosting science and improving life. We’re 100% remote, with Scilifers spread from Jodhpur to Antwerp and from Barcelona to Miami. Location shouldn’t limit potential.
We work across time zones, but we stay close through chat and video calls, and twice a year we all get together for an all-expenses-paid team gathering. We’re a friendly bunch who don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we’re driven and we get things done.
We’ll set you up with the hardware and software you need (hello, new laptop!). We’ll also listen to what you need to do your best work, because we believe a healthy work-life balance makes for better results.
This is a rare chance to build a function. Your team will create the pipeline that drives our growth, and you’ll have the room to shape how we do it. If you’re a solution-oriented builder who loves developing people, we can’t wait to welcome you aboard.
What we offer
- The chance to play a defining role in an emerging area of strategic importance for the company
- Fully remote work
