ABOUT THE ROLE The R&D; Data Office team plays a vital role in ensuring data is available to drive the discovery, development, and commercialization of prescription medicines. To protect patients and our business we must balance data use with adherence to external regulations. We are seeking a proactive individual with an analytical mindset to support the ongoing implementation of the US Data Security Rule in R&D; project,

Key Focus Areas:

- Supporting queries from R&D; staff on how to adhere to the Rule.

- Collaborating to establish guidance, communication material and AI tooling to support users.

- Helping key R&D; representatives embed the Rule within their functions.

- Deliver small group training and awareness sessions.

- Conducting regular drop-in sessions with functional representatives.

- Consultation to ensure R&D;’s approach to the regulation is appropriate.

In this hands-on role, you will collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders within R&D;, Compliance, Regulatory Intelligence & Legal, navigating competing priorities, ensuring that key deliverables are met on time and to the highest quality.

We are looking for someone who can:

- Use R&D;, clinical,



legal or data protection experience to rapidly understand the regulation & AZ’s approach to compliance.

- Provide ‘hands-on’ day-to-day support for scientists and clinical teams in R&D.;

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, following up on required actions to solve challenges.

- Adapt quickly and work flexibly and independently across multiple activities simultaneously.

- Demonstrate initiative in identifying and solving problems; understand which problems can be solved directly and which need senior legal input.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Pharma and data protection experience

- Proven experience implementing healthcare data regulations or similar

- Scientific and/or clinical acumen

- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory frameworks to business operations, with experience translating regulatory requirements into practical implementation strategies

- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups

- Exceptional organizational abilities, along with well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
