Experteer Overview
In this role you support protection, control, communications and SCADA design for HV and EHV substations on National Grid projects in the UK. Based in Spain under a local contract, you work remotely within UK project teams with coaching from experienced engineers. You will progress through increasingly complex assignments and aim for professional registration. You help shape resilient substation architectures and safety-critical interfaces while collaborating across international teams.

Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Design and review protection and control systems for HV/EHV substations from concept to commissioning
• Develop protection philosophies, diagrams, schematics, interlocking and interface documentation
• Develop schemes for transmission assets and ensure main/back-up protection and teleprotection functionality
• Support protection coordination and settings, including fault studies
• Contribute to substation control, automation and communication architectures at bay and station levels
• Apply IEC 61850 engineering principles, data models, GOOSE, MMS and Sampled Values
• Ensure station-bus and process-bus resilience,



time sync and network segregation per National Grid and standards
• Coordinate interfaces with TSO, SCADA, telecoms and other disciplines
• Deliver allocated work packages with quality and schedule under supervision

Responsabilidades
• Electrical, electronic or control engineering degree
• Minimum 5 years in protection and control for HV/EHV substations
• Experience with protection relays and substation automation; knowledge of IEC 61850 preferred
• Knowledge of BS EN/IEC standards and UK transmission requirements is advantageous
• Some relay configuration, testing and scheme testing experience
• Fluent professional English; strong documentation and meeting skills
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and spend up to two weeks in the UK
• Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams
