At Hays, we are collaborating with an international company within the industrial and technology sector, specializing in automation and digital solutions, with operations across multiple general markets.

We are looking for a Business Finance Controller – R&D; to act as a financial partner to the business, ensuring effective financial governance across costs, projects and assets. The position combines hands-on financial controlling, project finance and analysis with business partnering in an international and cross-functional environment.

Main responsibilities

- Manage the financial control of costs and projects, ensuring accurate allocation, ownership and traceability of financial information.
- Oversee financial structures and master data in SAP, including cost centers, WBS and internal orders.
- Monitor spending and support compliance with internal finance and procurement processes.
- Manage and monitor business cases, capitalization and impairment related to projects.
- Support forecasting, performance management and financial analysis, identifying deviations and providing reliable insights for decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D;, Project Management, Supply Chain, Accounting, Shared Services and business stakeholders across different countries.

Requirements

- 5–8 years of experience in Business Finance, Controlling,



FP&A; or a similar financial position.
- Strong experience in cost accounting and financial controlling.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, particularly capitalization, impairment and inventory provisions.
- Experience with financial modelling, business cases and NPV.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP CO/FI, including cost centers, WBS and internal orders.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Fluent English, as this will be the daily working language.
- Strong ownership and autonomy, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in an international environment.

Nice to have

- Previous experience within an international industrial or technology environment.
- Experience in R&D; or project controlling.
- Knowledge of Coupa or similar procurement tools.
- Exposure to EPM or consolidation tools.
- CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Spanish and/or French language skills.
