Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Engineering department of the Hydro and Ring Motor organization.

You will develop your expertise by calculating mechanically Hydro machines and Ring Motors, ensuring alignment with ABB standards and targets.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

You will be mainly accountable for:

- Performing analytical mechanical calculations of components and structures under the supervision of mechanical engineers.
- Developing and executing finite element analysis (FEA) models, including processing and interpreting the results.
- Collaborating in resolving technical queries and mechanical issues from the Projects, Service, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments.
- Reviewing and updating technical documentation, calculation reports, specifications, and procedures.
- Collaboration in the technical monitoring of equipment manufacturing and assembly, analyzing potential deviations and proposing solutions.
- Preparation of technical reports and presentation of mechanical calculation and analysis results.




- Participation in technical coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams for project monitoring.
- Collaboration in the standardization of mechanical solutions and in generating lessons learned for the department.

Qualifications for the Role

- Degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical calculation related to electrical rotating machines.
- Experience in FEM analysis (Ansys or similar).
- Experience in 3D Design programs (Autodesk Inventor or similar) will be a plus.
- Mindset to innovate, take ownership, drive improvement. High standards of integrity and transparency.
- High level of English (spoken and written).
- Adaptability to change and ability to adjust plans when needed. Collaborative spirit with a team-oriented approach.
- Driving license will be a plus.
