Overview

In this Senior Data Scientist role, you will apply advanced analytics to strengthen Akamai’s security products and protect major internet brands. You’ll work in the Global Web Security group within Cloud Security, translating data insights into detection improvements and scalable models. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to enhance accuracy, resolve production challenges, and shape security strategy. This role offers the chance to impact large-scale security outcomes and work on cutting-edge data science in a distributed production environment.

Responsabilidades

- Analyze extremely large customer datasets to derive insights and build models
- Develop and implement detection rules and models to improve security product accuracy




- Improve data collection, processing, and analysis in a production-ready environment
- Troubleshoot production issues in a distributed system
- Collaborate across teams to drive product improvements and strategic insights

Requisitos principales

- Experience with large datasets using SQL/Spark and Python
- Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and ML algorithms/techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to communicate up to senior/principal data scientists and engineers
- Experience working in distributed production environments (preferred)
