Overview

As a Fire & Risk Engineer at AECOM Spain Building Services, you will develop and validate fire protection designs across project lifecycles for diverse sectors. You contribute to fire safety studies, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure code-compliant, performance-based solutions. You’ll influence both design reviews and practical implementation, from passive to active systems. Responsabilidades

- Develop and review fire protection designs across concept to detailed engineering
- Perform fire risk assessments and support fire engineering studies
- Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and provide fire protection expertise
- Review contractor and vendor submissions for compliance with codes
- Design and specify passive fire protection systems
- Review architectural and structural drawings for fire compartmentation compliance
- Design and review fire detection and alarm systems
- Prepare detection layouts,



cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives
- Coordinate detection strategies for high-risk environments
- Support system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities
- Review integration with building management, security, and emergency systems
- Design and review active fire protection systems
- Perform hydraulic calculations for system sizing
- Review vendor calculations, submittals, and equipment selections

Requisitos principales

- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Structural with fire specialization)
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Technical background, minimum 3 years in Fire Protection Design Engineering
- Experience with international and local codes/standards (NFPA, IFC/IBC, EN/BS, FM Global Data Sheets)
- Experience with performance-based design frameworks and equivalency methodologies
