develops and applies innovative interdisciplinary methodologies to investigate the origins of plant-based food traditions of early farming communities in the Levant (11,600-9,500 cal BP). By integrating archaeobotanical, microstructural, biomolecular and experimental approaches, the project reconstructs ancient cooking activities and food products from archaeological food remains, for studying the emergence of staple foods such as bread, porridge and other cereal-based preparations at the dawn of agriculture.
Master’s degree in History, Archaeology, Anthropology or a related field.
