Artificial Mitochondria for Health The group of Dr. Iván López‐Montero at the Department of Physical Chemistry I at the Complutense University in Madrid is looking for strongly motivated candidates for a PhD‐student position. The position is funded by the ERC (European Research Council) and covers a period of 3 years. The work will focus on drug delivery in a framework of synthetic biology and will focus on the production of ATP inside artificial model membrane systems and their delivery into human cell cultures carrying mitochondrial dysfunctions. What is expected?
* Applicants should be ready to be accepted on a Spanish PhD thesis program in Experimental Science at the starting date.
* Laboratory experience and skills to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary team are desirable.
* Candidates from any scientific discipline that are interested in interdisciplinary research questions at the interface between physics, chemisty and biology.
