We are seeking motivated candidates to prepare a joint application for an FPU 2026 predoctoral fellowship, under the supervision of Dr. Jesús Fernández-Abascal at the Andalusian Centre for Developmental Biology (CABD), Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Seville, Spain.

Our research uses Caenorhabditis elegans to investigate how mitochondrial stress in the nervous system generates signals between tissues and influences ageing, protein homeostasis and vulnerability to neurodegeneration.

What We Offer
Support in preparing a competitive fellowship application, together with training in genetics, molecular biology, microscopy and quantitative analysis of ageing.

Appointment is conditional on the fellowship being awarded.
Perfil buscado
- A degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedicine or a related discipline.




- An outstanding undergraduate academic record, preferably equivalent to ≥9/10 on the Spanish grading scale. This is an indicative preference for shortlisting; eligibility is determined by the official fellowship requirements.
- Strong motivation for experimental research, willingness to learn and commitment to pursuing a PhD.
- Eligibility for the FPU 2026 call and admission to doctoral studies within the required timeframe.

Previous research experience will be valued. Experience with C. elegans would be an advantage.
