The opportunity

We are looking for a Head of AI & Computer Vision with the technical depth of an outstanding software engineer, the product mindset of a founder and the leadership skills to build a world-class engineering organisation.

This is not a purely managerial role.

We want somebody who genuinely loves engineering, remains deeply involved in the code and takes personal responsibility for translating ambitious technology into reliable products used by paying customers.

You will own the evolution of our technical platform, from computer-vision models and edge inference to cloud infrastructure, backend services, applications and analytics.

You will initially lead a lean engineering team, contribute directly to development and progressively build the organisation required to support international expansion.

What you will own

AI and Computer Vision

- Design, develop and improve deep-learning models for driver-behaviour analysis, object detection, tracking, pose estimation and video understanding
- Develop and optimise inference pipelines for edge and cloud environments
- Establish robust model evaluation, testing, monitoring and continuous improvement processes
- Improve model accuracy, performance, reliability and computational efficiency

Software Engineering and Architecture





- Take end-to-end ownership of our technical architecture, engineering roadmap and delivery
- Build, review, debug and deploy production code personally
- Lead the integration of edge devices, cloud services, backend systems, mobile applications and customer dashboards
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, security and operational reliability
- Establish CI/CD, automated testing, observability and appropriate MLOps practices

Leadership and Execution

- Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team
- Set clear priorities, measurable milestones and reliable delivery commitments
- Introduce effective engineering processes without unnecessary bureaucracy
- Take accountability for technical decisions, quality and delivery
- Work closely with the founders to translate customer needs and business priorities into engineering outcomes

Technology Strategy

- Help shape the long-term product and technology strategy
- Contribute to intellectual property development and technical differentiation
- Support technical discussions with enterprise customers, strategic partners and investors
- Build a technology organisation capable of scaling internationally

What we're looking for

Essential

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on experience with AI and computer vision
- Proven experience delivering real production software, not just research prototypes or proofs of concept
- Excellent Python programming skills and a strong understanding of software architecture
- Production experience with computer vision, deep learning and video-processing pipelines
- Strong knowledge of frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow and OpenCV
- Practical experience deploying and optimising ML models on edge hardware, GPUs or constrained environments
- Understanding of cloud systems, backend development, APIs, deployment and MLOps




- Experience leading engineers and delivering complex technical projects
- A track record of building, improving and maintaining products used by real customers
- Strong communication skills

Highly valued

- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, TensorRT and ONNX
- Experience with real-time video analytics, temporal action recognition or human-behaviour analysis
- Background in automotive, ADAS, robotics, mobility, telematics or safety technology
- Experience in early-stage or scaling technology companies
- Previous experience as a technical founder, CTO, Head of Engineering or Lead Engineer
