Location: Canggu, Bali, Indonesia
Type: On-site Internship
Duration: 4–6 months
Compensation: Unpaid internship, with potential opportunities for a future full-time position The Role
We are looking for a Science Teaching Intern who wants to work with real students, in real classrooms, making a real difference.
You will support science education at Exagon School, teaching biology, chemistry, and physics, running experiments, and helping students discover STEM.
This is not an internship built around lesson plan theory. You will stand in front of students, lead classes, run lab sessions, and contribute directly to their education.
Depending on the project, you may help take a topic from curriculum planning through lesson delivery, assessment, and student development.
What You Could Be Teaching
Your work may include
- Planning and delivering science lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics
- Running hands-on experiments and laboratory sessions
- Mentoring students and supporting their academic growth
- Developing curriculum materials, worksheets, and teaching resources
- Assessing student progress and providing feedback
- Collaborating with fellow teachers on cross-disciplinary projects
The School You Will Support Exagon School is part of our wider group, which has spent more than 30 years building and operating companies internationally, with experience across New York, London, Tokyo, and Bali.
Today, our teams work from a 4,000 sqm campus in Canggu across energy, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, engineering, and education.
Projects across the wider group include:
Zero-X — Developing thermochemical conversion and distributed energy systems, with more than 200 installations operating across 11 countries.
Seraph Group — Developing decentralized bioproduction systems combining AI, robotics, and synthetic biology.
Gemino AI — Building AI technology for industrial control and autonomous operations, including the OptiVX platform and Project Maya wearable AI system.
Exagon School — Providing science and STEM education to students, with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world application.
Science education connects students to the world around them — building curiosity, critical thinking, and the foundation for future STEM careers.
What We're Looking For
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are currently studying or have recently completed a degree in Science, Education, STEM, or a related field
- Have practical teaching or tutoring experience through university placements, volunteer work, or previous employment
- Have a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, or physics
- Can communicate complex ideas clearly and engage students of different ages
- Can join us fully on-site in Bali for approximately 4–6 months
You do not need experience teaching every science subject we cover. We are more interested in strong science knowledge, practical teaching experience, curiosity, and your ability to inspire students.
This internship can also be completed as part of a university internship or placement requirement.
Internship Setup
- 4–6 months based in Canggu, Bali
- Fully on-site position
- Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break
- Approximately 25 working hours per week
- Daily lunch provided
- On-campus accommodation available at competitive rates
- Strong performers may be considered for future full-time opportunities across the group
Important Information This is an unpaid internship.
You must be available to work from our Bali campus for the duration of the placement.
This position is not available remotely or in a hybrid format.
How to Apply
When applying, tell us about something you have actually done in education.
This could be
- a lesson or unit you planned and delivered,
- a student you mentored or tutored,
- a science experiment or demonstration you ran,
- another teaching experience that demonstrates how you educate and inspire.
We care less about whether the experience was in a formal school and more about whether you can explain what you taught, how you taught it, and what your students learned.
