He/She performs a variety of tasks, prepares materials, reagents, and equipment, runs laboratory tests and procedures for which he/she has been adequately trained, compiles data and may collaborate in the selection of appropriate experimental and analytical methods. He/She performs routine equipment and laboratory maintenance.Key AccountabilitiesMust be capable of performing all duties required of a Lab Technician I.Must demonstrate good understanding of laboratory procedures and methods that are applicable to this position.Conducts the activities associated with laboratory procedures as required by his/her supervisor.Performs laboratory tests and experiments and periodically communicates results, problems, and progress to his/her supervisor.Compiles experimental data and performs calculations to present and discuss them to his/her supervisor.May collaborate in the selection of appropriate experimental and analytical methods.Supports the training of newcomers and ensures that they obtain adequate knowledge regarding procedures and laboratory protocols.Maintains electronic or paper laboratory notebook making sure that all data is accurately recorded in accordance with guidelines and procedures.Sets up and operates a variety of general and specialized laboratory equipment.Initiates purchase requisitions for laboratory supplies as needed according to established procedures.Keep that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.Schedules own tasks and activities in accordance with assignments and priorities.Maintains a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.Follows strict laboratory quality, safety, and environmental procedures according to regulations in place.Participates in activities related to continuous improvement, 5S and Lean Six-Sigma.Networking/Key relationshipsTo be determined based on department needs, to include interactions such as:Mainly with R&D, Quality and Operations colleaguesMinimum Knowledge & Experience required for the positionEducation:Required: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio in Science or Health-related field, completed with experience in chemical, biological, or health-related laboratoryDegree may be substituted by relevant skills and work experienceValuable: Any additional degree higher than that required in the previous sectionExperience:3 years’ experience as lab technician, either at Biokit or outsiteDepending on the type of laboratory to which the technician is going to be placed, specific experience may be required in topics like: cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, lab automation, clinical analyzers…Additional Skills/Knowledge:Software: Fluency in Office Tools (Excel & Word), Valuable Basic knowledge in SAPLanguage: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan.
