About Secure Intelligent

Secure Intelligent builds private AI for companies that handle sensitive data: banks, insurers, clinics and security teams. Our platform, Hura, sits between a company and any AI model. It removes personal data before the model sees it, applies the company’s rules and keeps the records the EU AI Act and GDPR ask for. Our studio uses it to build AI assistants, agents and automations inside the software our clients already use.

Hura began as research into privacy-preserving and federated AI and was selected for the AI Action Summit in Paris in 2025. We are an early-stage company based in Barcelona, and you will be one of our first engineers, shaping the technology from the ground up.

The Role

As an AI/ML Engineer, you will design, build and deploy the machine learning systems behind Hura and our client projects. You will work closely with the founder and with clients to turn real business processes into reliable, private and measurable AI. Your work will decide how well we protect data, how accurate our systems are, and how quickly clients can trust them in production.

Responsibilities

- Develop, train and optimise models for detecting personal data in Spanish and European text: DNI, NIE, IBAN, names, addresses and health identifiers
- Build LLM applications for clients: assistants that answer from company documents (RAG), document processing and multi-step AI agents with human approval
- Design and maintain the Hura gateway’s ML components: model routing, policy checks and audit logging
- Build scalable ML pipelines, with deployment, monitoring and evaluation in production
- Deploy and optimise open-weight models on EU cloud infrastructure and on clients’ own servers, for performance, cost and low latency
- Create evaluation datasets and benchmarks so every system ships with measured accuracy
- Research and apply new techniques in LLMs, NLP and privacy-preserving machine learning, including federated learning




- Work with clients during pilots to understand their data, processes and requirements

- Requirements

- 4+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with models deployed in production
- Strong Python, plus PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar ML frameworks
- Experience with deep learning and NLP: entity recognition, text classification, embeddings and transformers
- Hands-on experience with LLMs: RAG, vector databases, fine-tuning or prompt engineering, and model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral or open-weight models)
- Experience with cloud ML services (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure), Docker and APIs (FastAPI or similar)
- A strong grasp of data structures, algorithms and software engineering best practices, including testing and code review
- Fluent English; Spanish is a strong plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a small, fast-moving team

Nice to have

- Microsoft Presidio, spaCy, Hugging Face, vLLM or LiteLLM
- Federated learning or differential privacy
- Agent frameworks and tool calling
- Knowledge of GDPR, the EU AI Act or DORA
- Experience in fintech, health or cybersecurity
