BelMoney moves money across borders for fifteen white-label brands on AWS, Windows and SQL Server. We are hiring a DevOps Engineer with 6+ years of experience to own how that platform is built, deployed and kept running.
What you will own
- The path from commit to production: GitLab pipelines building and deploying .NET applications across fifteen environments.
- The AWS footprint: peered VPCs, Client VPN, load balancers, security groups, Secrets Manager.
- Windows Server and IIS across production, staging and UAT.
- SQL Server: availability groups, migrations, backups, and performance when it degrades.
- Observability: structured logs into Grafana Loki and Betterstack, and alerting that catches a stalled queue before a partner does.
- Incident response. When transfers stop moving on a Sunday morning, you are the person who finds out why.
What we are looking for
Six or more years in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering, and most of the following:
- Windows at scale. The platform runs on Windows Server and IIS today, and will for some time yet.
- AWS in production. Not a certification – you have traced a peering route while something was down.
- CI/CD you designed, not inherited. GitLab CI is a plus; a pipeline for many tenants that does not become fifteen special cases is the requirement.
- SQL Server operations. Availability groups, backups, and enough plan literacy to tell a missing index from a bad query.
- PowerShell as a working language.
- Infrastructure as code. Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent, applied to an estate that was not built that way.
- Judgement about production. We move other people's money. A careless change costs more than downtime.
Nice to have
- Polish, Ukrainian or Russian. English is the working language and the only language requirement; any of these three is a genuine advantage.
- Payments, remittance or another regulated financial domain.
- Experience pulling a legacy estate into order: older .NET, hand-configured servers, environments that have drifted apart.
- Containers and orchestration, which the planned Linux migration will lean on.
- Secrets management, certificate lifecycles, and mutual TLS integrations with banking partners.
The stack, as it actually runs
A real platform with real history, not a greenfield. A migration to Linux is on the roadmap for the coming years, so experience on both sides is welcome.
- Cloud: AWS – EC2, peered VPCs, Client VPN, application load balancers, S3, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager, CloudWatch
- CI/CD: GitLab CI with self-hosted Windows runners; build artifacts in S3
- Servers: Windows Server, IIS, PowerShell
- Applications: .NET Framework 4.8 alongside .NET 7 and 8; ASP.NET MVC and Web API; background services on Quartz.NET
- Data: SQL Server 2022, AlwaysOn availability groups, DbUp migrations
- Observability: Serilog, Grafana Loki, Betterstack
- Integrations: over a hundred payment providers, several over mutual TLS
- Scale: fifteen white-label brands on one codebase and one platform
