About oloBion
oloBion is a multi-omics CRO founded in 2020, with labs in Barcelona and at UC Davis in the US. We run metabolomics, proteomics and lipidomics for pharma, biotech, cosmetics, food and academic clients. Every project ends in oloMAP, our own data platform, where clients explore their results. We're growing fast, adding new service lines and moving toward long-term partnerships with clients. We need a Lab Director to help us scale-up, maintaining the high standard quality that we are known for..
The role
You'll run all lab operations in Barcelona and make sure every dataset we send out is accurate, reproducible and on time. You'll lead the analytical team, own our LC-MS/MS platforms, and work closely with our bioinformatics and business teams to turn client questions into robust studies.
What you'll do
• Lead and develop the lab team (analysts, technicians, scientists)
• Own sample-to-data workflows for metabolomics, proteomics and lipidomics,



from sample prep to data acquisition and QC
• Set up and enforce QA/QC standards, SOPs and documentation, and get the lab ready for audits and accreditation
• Plan lab capacity and turnaround times and decide which projects run first as volume grows
• Manage instruments, maintenance, vendors and the lab budget
• Lead method development and validation for new services and assays
• Act as scientific counterpart for key clients on study design and technical questions
• Coordinate with our US and LUX lab to keep methods aligned across both sites
