Company Overview
AESC is a integral leader in lithium‑ion and LFP battery technology, with a fast‑growing footprint across Japan, the UK, France, China, and the USA. It is now expanding in Spain with a €1‑billion gigafactory in Extremadura that will create up to 900 direct jobs in phase one. The Spanish facility is designed as the first net‑zero industrial park gigafactory in the country, in line with AESC's mission to pioneer sustainable battery manufacturing.
Role Purpose
Are you a recent engineering graduate, or do you have your first 1–2 years in EHS, and want to grow in fire protection, explosion protection (ATEX) and process safety? As EHS Junior Engineer you will join the EHS team of AESC's new battery gigafactory in Navalmoral de la Mata from the design phase, through construction and commissioning, to the start of production. Working with and learning from senior EHS engineers, you will review drawings and design documents against European and Spanish regulations, follow up comments and corrective actions until they are closed,



take part in risk assessments and follow the fire protection works on site. You will work every day with the Construction (GIC) team, Chinese and Spanish design institutes, fire/safety consultants and other AESC departments.
Key Responsibilities
Design review & fire protection
• Review EHS and fire protection drawings and design documents (fire compartmentation, evacuation routes, sprinklers, detection and alarm, emergency lighting and signage) against Spanish and EU regulations (RSCIEI, CTE DB-SI, RIPCI, UNE-EN) and AESC EHS standards.
• Keep the comment and corrective-action register and follow up with designers and stakeholders until design freeze.

Explosion protection & process safety
• Support ATEX hazardous area classification and help prepare and update the Explosion Protection Document (DPCE).
• Take part in HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA studies and track their recommendations, including li
