About Equine Care Group

Headquartered in Lummen (Belgium), Equine Care Group (ECG) was founded in 2021 by leading equine veterinarians Dr. Tom Mariën and Dr. Frederik Bruyninx together with Bencis Capital Partners, and has since welcomed CNP (Compagnie Nationale à Portefeuille) into its capital.

The team

You will join ECG's National Service Centre (NSC) for Spain & Portugal, a small, hands‑on finance team that runs day‑to‑day finance for the group's Spanish and Portuguese businesses and reports to group controlling in Belgium. You will report to the Finance Manager – Spain & Portugal. We are building this function in‑house: moving to fully digital accounting, rolling out a new ERP and taking over activities now handled by external providers.

Key responsibilities

- Record purchase and sales invoices and reconcile bank transactions.
- Run the monthly close (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll) and prepare balance-sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare and file recurring tax returns. Spain: Modelo 303, 111/115 and SII where applicable. Portugal: periodic VAT return, DMR / Modelo 10 and monthly SAF-T (PT).
- Support annual accounts and filings. Spain: Modelo 200, 390 and 347. Portugal: IRC (Modelo 22),



IES and annual SAF-T (PT).
- Play an active role in the new ERP migration and e‑invoicing rollout (Veri*Factu in Spain; certified billing, ATCUD and QR code in Portugal).
- Take over accounting activities currently outsourced in both countries.

What we are looking for

- 3+ years of hands‑on accounting and tax experience in Spain and/or Portugal, ideally across several entities.
- Comfortable learning and taking ownership of an ERP/accounting system.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese as working language(s) and an advanced level of English.
- Advanced Excel.
- Structured, accurate and reliable; proactive and pragmatic; able to work autonomously and enjoy a small team in a fast‑moving, private‑equity-backed environment.
