Headquartered in Barcelona (Spain), Trama TecnoAmbiental (TTA) is an international engineering and consulting firm in business since 1986 in the field of renewable energies and specialized in distributed generation and energy access for development. TTA’s multidisciplinary team has comprehensive experience at both technical and management levels and has been exposed to many international projects all over the world.

TTA has been pioneer of renewable energy-based microgrids, 100% and/or hybrid, both in concept development, design, and engineering, as well as deployment and dissemination with a clear vision and an approach key to sustainability and social responsibility.

2- The role

TTA is seeking an R&D; Project Manager– Energy Data & Programming, who would be in charge of leading the design, preparation and implementation of research, development and innovation initiatives and projects related to universal energy access, specifically IoT system integration, software documentation, and telemetry data analysis.

The role is responsible for reaching out, maintaining a network, supporting and structuring competitive proposals for local, European and international funding, coordinating international consortia and ensuring effective technical, financial and administrative project execution. The position carries a balanced workload between hands-on technical programming/data tasks and R+D+i project management.

The R&D; Project Manager– Energy Data & Programming will work in the following areas:

- R+D+i project management and coordination:
- Coordinate the technical, administrative and financial implementation of R+D+i projects, ensuring compliance with co-funders’ requirements.
- Manage work plans, deliverables, milestones, quality standards, and risk mitigation measures across research and innovation projects.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure forecasts and financial reporting, and of cash-flow related to projects activities.
- Contribute to the strategic development, product management, and internal coordination of e.g. GIISA as core innovation product, including its documentation, roadmap definition and alignment with ongoing operative and R+D+i projects.

- Technical Development and Programming:
- Programming IoT platforms working with open-source code and frameworks,



understanding architecture, contributing to development, and prototyping. Develop and deploy code for embedded systems, cloud platforms, and communication protocols relevant to IoT.
- Conduct analysis of data gathered by different monitoring platforms (performance metrics, error logs, sensor readings). Extract actionable insights to inform decision-making, enhance platform functionalities, and lead the development of a database of monitored projects.
- Assess and support the integration of DRE and solar mini-grids with remote monitoring platforms, including connections, hardware sensors, processing units, and monitored variables.

- Commercial, new opportunities and networking:
- Collaborate to identify strategic opportunities for R+D+i projects related to renewable energy, solar and hybrid mini-grids, solar system solutions, energy access, digital and green transition solutions, etc.
- Prepare concept notes and coordinate full proposal development for European and international funding, including proposal writing, identifying potential partners, budget and work estimates, project viability, collaboration agreements, et al.
- Build and maintain relationships with international partners for R+D+i initiatives and collaborations.
- Represent TTA in international conferences, events and innovation networks.

- Novelty of R+D+i opportunities:
- Identify and analyze emerging trends in universal energy access, telemetry, mini-grids, digital and green transition,
- Contribute to technical documentation required for R+D+I tax incentives,
- Contribute to the drafting and review of scientific papers, abstracts and technical summaries related to the R+D+I projects

Key qualifications

- Educational background.



A Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required. Specific education in computer science, renewable energies, sustainable energy will be an advantage.
- Experience. 5+ years of experience in R+D+i projects, software development, data engineering.
- Languages. Full professional fluency in both English and Catalan is required, French or Spanish are desirable.
- Technical tools. Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel. Programming concepts in JavaScript, Python, Git, Node-RED, IoT communication protocols, and database management.

Nice-to-haves
- Previous work experience in renewable energies, solar energy, rural electrification, energy access, etc.
- Interests. Sustainable energies, social impact projects.
- Other skills:

- Ability to work with minimum supervision and multiple project tasks simultaneously.
- Analytical skills, efficient designing and implementing of processes.
- Methodical and well-organized.
- Ability and proven experience to think creatively, learn quickly, and develop innovative solutions involving electrical and digital challenges.
- Cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including awareness of data confidentiality, ethical considerations, and opportunities to enhance analytical workflows.
