JOB DESCRIPTION
At Molins Cement, we produce efficient clinker that enables us to manufacture and market Portland cement products. We distribute white Portland cement produced at our plant in Tunisia and contribute to the production of calcium aluminate cement under the Electroland and Aluminite brands.
We are looking for a business-oriented FP&A; professional to join the Finance team supporting the Cement business in Spain. The role will act as a financial business partner to the Commercial, Industrial, Supply Chain, Energy, Sustainability and Management teams, translating operational and market drivers into forward-looking financial insights. The successful candidate will lead planning and forecasting activities, challenge business assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability, cash generation and capital allocation.
The position is designed with a strong FP&A; focus rather than a traditional financial controlling or accounting orientation.
The FP&A; Analyst - Cement Business Spain will report to the FP&A; Manager / Finance Director Spain and will work closely with the Cement business management team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the annual Budget, monthly rolling forecast, outlook and Mid-Term Plan processes for the Cement business in Spain, ensuring consistency between commercial, industrial and financial assumptions.
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models covering cement and clinker volumes, selling prices, product and customer mix, variable costs, fixed costs, logistics, working capital, CAPEX and cash flow.
- Prepare monthly business performance reviews and forward-looking analyses, explaining deviations versus Budget, Forecast and prior year through price-volume-mix, cost and operational bridges, and translating findings into clear management actions.
- Analyse profitability by product, market, customer, channel and geography, including bulk and bagged cement, clinker and special products, to support commercial strategy, pricing decisions and portfolio optimisation.
- Monitor and forecast the main industrial value drivers of the cement business: kiln and grinding performance, production volumes, capacity utilisation, maintenance shutdowns, inventories, clinker factor, raw materials, electricity, thermal energy, fuels and alternative-fuel substitution.
- Assess financial exposure to energy prices, CO2 emission costs and allowances, logistics costs and other key commodities. Develop sensitivities and scenarios to quantify risks, opportunities and mitigation actions.
- Support demand planning and market outlooks for Spain by connecting construction-sector trends, regional demand, competitive dynamics and import/export flows with volume, price and margin scenarios.
- Develop business cases and post-investment reviews for industrial CAPEX, decarbonisation, energy-efficiency, alternative-fuel, digitalisation, logistics and capacity projects, including NPV, IRR, payback,
scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Partner with Commercial, Operations and Supply Chain teams to identify and track margin improvement, cost-efficiency, inventory, service-level and cash-generation initiatives, with clear owners, milestones and financial impact.
- Prepare concise dashboards, management presentations and ad hoc analyses for the Cement management team and Spain Finance leadership, highlighting key messages, decisions required, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of management information, collaborating with Accounting and Controlling teams during the monthly close while keeping the role focused on analysis, forecasting and decision support.
- Continuously improve FP&A; processes, data models and reporting tools, increasing automation, forecast accuracy, analytical depth and the speed of decision-making.
Requisitos
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in FP&A;, business finance, strategic controlling or financial analysis, preferably in cement, building materials, heavy industry, energy or another process industry.
- Strong understanding of integrated P&L;, balance sheet and cash-flow planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling, business cases and investment appraisal.
- Ability to connect operational drivers with financial outcomes and to communicate conclusions clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Power BI or similar business-intelligence tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP, particularly FI, CO and CO-PA, is a must. Experience with planning or consolidation tools is an advantage.
- Fluency in Spanish and professional proficiency in English. Catalan is an advantage.
- Skills: strategic and analytical mindset, commercial and operational curiosity, strong business partnering, critical thinking, attention to detail, proactive attitude, clear communication, teamwork, continuous improvement, ownership and ability to perform in a demanding industrial environment.
