Overview

In this Packaging Engineer role at Pepsi Co, you will develop and commercialize packaging designs for Innovation and Sustainability in Foods. You will collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Finance to craft packaging solutions for established projects that drive growth. You’ll work on packaging requirements like functionality, protection and shelf life, and maintain packaging specifications. You’ll translate technology trends into cost-efficient, market-ready solutions, supporting fast-paced, consumer-driven initiatives.

Responsabilidades

- Develop and commercialize primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for ready meals, sauces, and dips across shelf-stable, refrigerated, and frozen formats
- Create go-to-market packaging solutions that optimize supply chain efficiency across distribution channels
- Maintain up-to-date packaging specifications and ensure compliance across internal plants and co-packers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define packaging requirements (functionality, protection, shelf life) and align with product development
- Monitor packaging technologies and assess applicability to reduce total system cost and improve efficiency
- Manage packaging development timelines, stage-gate processes,



and project budgets with cross-functional stakeholders
- Maintain supplier and internal partner relationships to ensure seamless packaging launches
- Travel 15–25% for collaboration with plants, suppliers, and customers

Requisitos principales

- 5 years of experience in food/beverage packaging development and execution (primary, secondary, tertiary)
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or equivalent
- Strong project management skills with experience in timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills with excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to follow a formal stage-gate process and develop packaging plans and timelines
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment
- Ability to travel 15–25% and build relationships with internal and external teams
- Knowledge of packaging materials and their interactions with equipment
