OverviewUnder direction of the immediate supervisor, the Lab Technician II participates in the execution of laboratory experiments following quality, safety, and environmental rules. He/She performs a variety of tasks, prepares materials, reagents, and equipment, runs laboratory tests and procedures for which he/she has been adequately trained, compiles data,



and may collaborate in the selection of appropriate experimental and analytical methods. He/She performs routine equipment and laboratory maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Must be capable of performing all duties required of a Lab Technician I.
- Must demonstrate a good understanding of laboratory procedures and methods applicable to this position.
- Conducts activities associated with laboratory procedures as required by his/her supervisor.
- Performs laboratory tests and experiments and periodically communicates results, problems, and progress to his/her supervisor.
- Compiles experimental data and performs calculations to present and discuss them with his/her supervisor.
- May collaborate in the selection of appropriate experimental and analytical methods.
- Supports the training of newcomers and ensures that they obtain adequate knowledge of procedures and laboratory protocols.
