Building on three previous projects from the AEI’s Knowledge Generation Program—which led to the formulation of the hypothesis of “social disappearance” and “social dis-”—a persistent and structural mechanism for expelling forms of existence beyond the thinkable, the sayable, the sensible,



and the narrable—the project conceives of the toxic as the intersection between discounted life and decomposed nature. It investigates the actions taken, at various scales, to make these situations livable: what arts of living unfold within decomposed nature? To this end, it develops a multi-sited field strategy in Europe and Latin America. * Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Sociology or Anthropology. * Master’s degree in one of those disciplines.
