IRIS-CC is a Private Foundation that governs, directs and manages the Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia. It is the result of a strategic alliance between 17 academic, healthcare and social institutions in Central Catalonia and its area of influence.

The mission of IRIS-CC is to generate scientific knowledge in the life and health sciences, focusing on people’s needs and improving their quality of life, as well as to create an innovative ecosystem that fosters regional development and provides the products and services demanded by society.

In August 2024, the Foundation Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia (IRIS-CC) received the European Commission’s “HR Excellence in Research” award. The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) is based on the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The implementation of HRS4R represents a quality seal demonstrating that a research centre’s human resources policy meets European standards.

In addition to the technical competencies required to become part of the IRIS-CC expert team, candidates must demonstrate a range of valuable transversal skills, including proactivity, versatility, communication skills, a high level of commitment and confidentiality, problem-solving abilities, a service-oriented approach,



organisational and management skills, and emotional management skills, among others.

Position

TEMPORARY (12 MONTHS), PART-TIME (18.75 HOURS PER WEEK) – Technician for the Priority Research Area in Care at the Foundation Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia (IRIS-CC).

The project is funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ programme.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in the field of nursing in residential care homes for older people.

Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia

Reporting line

Principal Investigator of the Project at Consorci Hospitalari de Vic.

The successful candidate will report to the head of the unit and will work in collaboration with the organisations participating in the project and the members of the M3O group.

Main responsibilities

- Participate in the development and supervision of an international study involving a residential care home for older people in the Osona region.




- Translate and adapt developed content and resources to ensure their applicability to residential care homes for older people managed by institutions within Cercle SiS.
- Act as a liaison between the project’s research team and the staff of residential care homes for older people managed by institutions within Cercle SiS.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Experience working in residential care homes for older people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced level of Catalan and Spanish.
- C1 level of English.
- Valid driving license and own vehicle.

The following will be considered an asset

- Experience in caring for older people in residential settings.
- Knowledge of the residential care homes for older people in the Osona region managed by institutions within Cercle SiS.
- Knowledge of geriatric assessment.
- Specific training in health promotion.
- Previous knowledge of the PROCON project and participation in any of its activities.
- Planning and results orientation.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Collaborative teamwork.
- Proactivity and autonomy.
- Commitment to quality and service.

Working conditions

- 18.75 hours per week.
- On-site work in Osona, between the municipalities of Vic and Manlleu.
- Travel to institutions involved in the project.
- Possible travel to IRIS-CC founding institutions.
