TITLE OF THE POSITION OFFERED: Pre-doctoral Researcher. Physics.

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY: Pre-doctoral Researcher.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION : MASTER'S DEGREE IN QUANTUM TECHNOLOGIES.

In the case of degrees obtained abroad (including EU degrees), applicants must provide proof that they hold the corresponding recognition or credential attesting to the equivalence of their degree, if applicable.

OTHER REQUISITES: Be enrolled in a doctoral program at UPCT at the time the employment contract is signed.

WEEKLY DEDICATION: This will be a full time position, and the workweek will consist of 37,5 hours, from Monday to Friday.

GROSS ANNUAL REMUNERATION: The employee will receive an annual gross salary of 20.599,88 euros.

PROJECT TITLE: Quantum sensors based on NV defects in diamond.

DURATION: The term of this contract shall be 12 months and may be extended for one-year periods.

funded by the EUROPEAN COMMISSION. Budget line A 642.10 (code: 2024/00015/001).

TASKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:

The pre-doctoral researcher will work on theoretical modeling and design of control and experimental protocols at the project’s own diamond NV centers. The researcher will assist in supervising master’s and undergraduate students, present their results at conferences, and participate in the research group’s collaborative efforts.

PLACE OF WORK: Quantum Technologies Laboratory (ELDI - ETSII).

MERITS TO BE ASSESSED AND EVALUATION CRITERIA:

- -Academic record (20%): The academic record corresponding
to the required degree will be evaluated along with other degrees relevant to the position’s profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics. Related degrees in the field of physical sciences will
weighted with a multiplier of 0.5.
- -Specific training (10%): University-level training in the field of
quantum technologies.
- -Professional experience (20%): Professional experience in the field of
quantum technologies.
- -Languages (10%): English proficiency certificates; scores will be weighted proportionally to the level according to the
European framework.
- - Other merits (20%): Publications, participation in scientific conferences, and
science outreach activities in the field of quantum technologies.
- - Personal interview (20%): The candidate’s ability to present experimental
scientific results in the field of quantum technologies will be evaluated.
