Role Description The Owner role at WORK WITH THE UN is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The person in this role will oversee the overall strategy, operations, and financial health of the organization, ensuring alignment with its mission and long-term goals. Day-to-day tasks include setting business objectives, managing budgets, supervising staff or collaborators, and maintaining relationships with partners, clients, and stakeholders.

The Owner will also lead business development activities, identify new opportunities, and guide marketing and outreach efforts to expand the organization’s impact. This role involves making key decisions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in business ownership, entrepreneurship, or senior leadership, with the ability to set and execute strategic direction.
- Strong background in operations management, including budgeting,



resource allocation, and process optimization.
- Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships, manage stakeholders, and represent the organization in professional settings.
- Knowledge of or strong interest in international cooperation, sustainability, social impact, or topics related to the United Nations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or Catalan is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site full time in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area and to travel locally or internationally when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees are an advantage but not required if supported by substantial experience.
