Description
As a DCEO: Engineering Operations Technician – Water Engineer at AWS, you will be responsible of ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of water treatment systems and chemical processes across our data center fleet. This role combines expertise in water chemistry, treatment systems, and infrastructure management to ensure the reliable operation of AWS data centers.
We are looking for a Water Utilities Engineer to join the Operations Team within our Utilities Team at the ZAZ cluster. The EOT is a hands-on water equipment troubleshooting and operation responder, with a focus on RO equipment, disinfection systems, evaporative cooling and associated critical infrastructure. Your work will help maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.
Key job responsibilities
Technical Leadership

Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for water system infrastructure and chemical treatments
Oversee critical systems including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and oxidant systems
Develop and maintain Legionella prevention programs




Implement Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE) improvements

Design & Engineering

Review and influence water chemistry and treatment designs for new facilities
Coordinate with design engineering teams on system specifications
Review construction documents and provide technical guidance

Operational Management

Manage preventative maintenance programs
Create and implement standard operating procedures
Monitor system performance and establish benchmarks
Coordinate with operations managers and field engineering teams
Review of procedures (SOPs/MOPs/EOPs), support compliance with integral policies, and maintain accurate records of equipment status, incidents, and maintenance activities.
