A rare opportunity to shape the next generation of high-altitude aerospace platforms.
We are seeking an
experienced Aerospace CAD Designer
to take ownership of complex aircraft structures within an innovative aerospace engineering environment.
This is a
hands-on senior role
combining advanced CAD design, structural integration and technical leadership. You will lead the overall assembly of primary and secondary aircraft structures while providing day-to-day technical direction to a small team of
1–3 CAD Designers .
You’ll be joining a highly experienced engineering team developing an entirely new class of high-altitude, long-endurance aerospace platforms.
The Role You will own CAD assemblies from concept through to detailed design, working closely with aerostructure designers, engineers and modelling specialists.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the design and development of
primary and secondary aircraft structures
Owning complex CAD assemblies and managing interfaces between structural systems
Providing technical leadership and direction to a small team of CAD Designers
Developing
ultra-lightweight structures
using advanced materials and manufacturing techniques
Designing structural solutions using composites, structural foams, specialised films and additive manufacturing
Developing physical routing and integration points for electrical, power and communications systems
Working across mechanical, thermal and electrical interfaces to resolve complex design challenges
Driving innovative solutions where
minimum weight, structural performance and manufacturability
are critical
Working closely with engineering and workshop teams to turn designs into physical hardware
What We're Looking For We’re looking for someone with substantial aerospace CAD experience who is comfortable taking ownership of complex structural design.
You should have:
Extensive experience with
CATIA, Siemens NX, 3DEXPERIENCE or an equivalent advanced CAD platform
A strong background in
aerospace structures , ideally composites or ultra-lightweight structures
Experience taking complex designs through to
flight-ready hardware
The ability to work across disciplines and solve problems spanning mechanical, thermal and electrical systems
Experience reviewing, coordinating or technically guiding the work of other designers
A practical, hands-on approach and a genuine interest in seeing designs move from CAD into the workshop
Experience with
HAPS, HALE, UAVs or other lightweight aerospace platforms
would be highly advantageous.
Why This Role? This isn't a conventional aerospace design position.
You’ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of
aerospace, advanced materials and high-altitude technology , with the freedom to develop genuinely lightweight and innovative structural solutions.
The organisation is building a new generation of persistent high-altitude platforms designed to provide continuous monitoring over areas where conventional systems can be limited.
You'll work alongside a team with experience across some of the world's most ambitious aerospace and high-altitude programmes.
Location The role is based at the company's flight development facilities in
Teruel, Aragón, Spain .
International travel may also be required to visit suppliers, partners and specialist engineering organisations.
