MISSION

Responsible for driving category growth and commercial activation across Pet Care markets through category management, trade marketing, pricing support, and market execution. The role acts as the link between Marketing, Sales, and local markets, ensuring that category strategies are translated into actionable plans that strengthen customer engagement, improve category performance, and accelerate business growth.

The Category & Trade Marketing Specialist supports the development of category insights, trade marketing programs, customer activations, pricing initiatives, and commercialization processes. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and local teams, the role ensures consistent execution of category strategies while identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness, profitability, and customer value creation.

FUNCTIONS

Category Management

- Support the development and implementation of category strategies across Pet Care markets.

- Analyze category, customer, consumer, and competitor data to identify growth opportunities and business risks.

- Build category recommendations and presentations for customers and local sales teams.

- Track category performance and prepare regular business reviews and market updates.

Trade Marketing

- Develop and coordinate trade marketing programs and activation plans aligned with business objectives.

- Support the execution of promotions, point-of-sale materials, customer campaigns, and in-store activation initiatives.

- Ensure consistency and effectiveness of trade marketing activities across markets.

- Measure and report activation performance and return on investment.

Pricing Management

Together with the Sales Analyst and the Sales Executives:

Support pricing strategy implementation and pricing governance processes.

Analyze pricing performance, market positioning, competitor pricing, and promotional effectiveness.

- Prepare pricing recommendations and support decision-making processes with data-driven analysis.

Market Activation & Commercial Support

- Work closely with local Sales teams to adapt category and trade initiatives to individual market needs.

- Develop sales presentations, selling stories, category reviews, and customer-facing support materials.

- Support the preparation of customer meetings, trade fairs, and commercial events.

- Ensure the availability and quality of category and trade-related tools for local markets.

Process Improvement & Business Support

- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve marketing and commercial processes.

- Manage selected marketing suppliers and support purchase order administration and budget tracking.

- Support cross-functional projects involving Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Innovation teams.

- Provide support to New Business initiatives when commercial and category expertise is required.1

General Education / Technical Skills
Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Trade Marketing, or similar. Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Professional Experience
Experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Sales Development, Marketing.

FMCG, Consumer Goods, Retail, Pet Care, or related sectors are preferred.
