Our research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behaviour of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 has been awarded with the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence distinction for three consecutive periods (2014-2018 and 2018-2022 and 2023-2026). Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher
Department: Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy
Description of Group/Project:
The objective of the project is to explore sensing and optoelectronic functionalities of on-surface synthesized nanoporous graphene (NPG)



and heterostructures based on this nanomaterial by integrating them in field-effect transistor (FET) devices.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
Transfer of NPG from the metallic growth substrate to gate dielectrics. Fabrication of NPG-based FET devices. Fabrication of heterostructures based on NPG and other 2D semiconductors to explore proximity effects. Micro Raman/PL and transport measurements. Management of the device subunit of the group. Supervision of early stage researchers.
Requirements:
- Education: PhD level background in physics, chemistry, nanoscience or engineering
- Knowledge: Background in 2D materials, device fabrication, materials science at the nanoscale condensed matter, physics.
- Professional Experience:
- Postdoctoral level experience experience as experimental nanoscientist, transfer of 2D materials, fabrication of nanodevices.
- Experience in student supervision.
