Descripció del projecte/ Project description:

The research assistant will join a multidisciplinary project team led by Nuria Sebastian, director of the Speech Acquisition and Perception lab, https://www.upf.edu/web/sap, Center for Brain and Cognition, https://www.upf.edu/web/cbc, Pompeu Fabra University. The position is supported by Grant PID2024-155658NB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe”

The research aims at exploring the impact of language distance in early (simultaneous) bilingualism on fundamental processes of speech perception. To this end we plan to test a diverse sample of simultaneous bilinguals in adulthood.

La investigacio pretén explorar l'impacte de la distància lingüística en el bilingüisme precoç (simultani) en els processos fonamentals de percepció de la parla. Amb aquesta finalitat, tenim previst provar una mostra diversa de bilingües simultanis en l'edat adulta.

Requisits/ Requirements

- Batxillerat-FP2/ High school-FP2.

- Formació acadèmica (0-40 punts).
- Grau en ingeniería, física, matemática o similar
- Master en Data Science o similar.
- Altra formació i experiència professional, adequació al perfil proposat (0-40 punts)
- Experiència en anàlisi de dades d’EEG
- Experiència en tècniques de classificació (Machine Learning and AI)
- Altres mèrits (0-20 punts)
- Bons coneixements de MATLAB i Python.
- Nivell alt d'anglès, català, castellà
- Pot començar gener de 2026.

- Academic Training (0-40 points)
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similar.
- Master in Data Science or similar.
- Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-40 points):
- Experience in EEG data analysis
- Experience in classification techniques (Machine Learning and AI)
- Other merits (0-20 punts):
- Good knowledge of MATLAB and Python.
- High level of English, Spanish and Catalan.
- Able to start January 2027.
