Description

We are looking for a Kitchen Trainee to join our Culinary team for an approximate period of 6 months, gaining hands-on experience across the different areas of kitchen operations and supporting the team in the preparation and execution of daily service.

This role offers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations within a professional hospitality environment, from mise en place and food preparation to service, stock management and coordination with other departments.

We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in developing their culinary skills and gaining experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the kitchen team with the daily preparation and mise en place required for service.
- Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes, following the established recipes, standards and procedures.
- Support the team during breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or event services, depending on the operational needs.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of banquets, events and special functions, working closely with the Events and F&B; teams.
- Ensure that all food preparation areas, equipment and workstations are kept clean, organized and in compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Follow established procedures regarding food handling, storage, labeling and temperature control.
- Support the correct storage and rotation of products, following FIFO principles and minimizing food waste.
- Assist with stock checks and inventory, communicating product needs or shortages to the relevant team members.




- Work closely with the Purchasing and Storeroom teams to understand the process of receiving, checking and storing products.
- Collaborate with the wider F&B; and operational teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination during service.
- Support the chefs with the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring that all necessary products and equipment are available before service.
- Assist with maintaining the kitchen’s quality and presentation standards throughout the operation.
- Gain exposure to different kitchen sections and processes, developing a broader understanding of professional kitchen operations.

About You
- Currently studying Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Genuine interest in developing a career in Culinary / Kitchen Operations.
- Organized, proactive and detail-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
- Team player with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to hygiene and food safety standards.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work closely with different teams.
- Passion for food, gastronomy and delivering high-quality standards.
- Availability for an approximately 6-month internship/trainee placement.
