Overview In this role you will lead AI strategy for Oncology clinical development, steering cross-functional teams to turn complex problems into scalable, enterprise-wide AI capabilities. You will partner with clinical, biometrics, regulatory, and study teams to embed AI-driven solutions in study design and decision-making. You will explore cutting-edge AI methods end-to-end, from data access to validation and adoption, while representing AstraZeneca in scientific forums. This position offers high visibility to shape AI-enabled pipelines across cancer biology and drug modalities. You will contribute to a culture of best practices and mentorship, driving adoption and impact at scale. Responsabilidades * Define and drive the AI strategy and roadmap for Oncology clinical development, aligning priorities with clinical and business goals * Lead complex, high-stakes AI projects through matrix leadership and scientific authority * Evaluate and champion end-to-end AI methods, covering problem definition, data governance, model development, validation,



and adoption * Build cross-functional relationships to embed AI solutions into study design, execution, and decision-making * Establish external collaborations with academia, industry partners, and consortia to advance the AI roadmap * Represent AstraZeneca at scientific venues and contribute publications * Establish and promote best practices and team culture * Mentor and support junior scientists Requisitos principales * PhD in a quantitative discipline * 4-8 years’ post-PhD experience with measurable impact * Exceptional software development skills and experience with frontier coding agent frameworks * Deep knowledge of biology and ML fundamentals with domain expertise in areas listed * Experience with training and tuning foundation models, Bayesian inference, temporal modeling, and multimodal integration * Data-centric AI capabilities: creating and curating datasets for training, benchmarking, and evaluation * Model evalua
