Responsible for successful maintenance of patient medical records and organizational and administrative operations of the Medical Record/Health Information Management Department. Is responsible for ensuring medical record regulatory requirements are followed and serves as a resource for the facility in regards to medical record content. Job Summary
Responsible for successful maintenance of patient medical records and organizational and administrative operations of the Medical Record/Health Information Management Department. Responsible for ensuring the prompt completion, filing and retrieval of medical records.
Reports To: CFO
Classification: Exempt
Supervises: HIM Staff
Qualifications
Degree as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from an accredited school.
Computer Experience Required In Windows, Spreadsheet And Word Processing.
Two or more years of previous hospital experience in health information management/medical record functions.
Knowledge of DNV standards and state regulations for health information/medical record requirements.
Ability to work with hospital management and physicians in an effort to ensure compliance to HIM policy and procedures.
Two years management, supervisory and leadership experience.
Demonstrates exceptional communication skills in writing, verbally, non-verbally and electronically.
Demonstrates exceptional negotiation skills.
