Experteer Overview In this role you will lead underwriting and risk assessment for Sompo’s Iberia Engineering u0026amp; Construction portfolio,spanning infrastructure, renewable energy, manufacturing, and large projects. You will work with underwriting, risk engineering, claims and distribution teams to support growth and deliver high‑quality client solutions. This position emphasizes technical underwriting, market engagement, and portfolio discipline to establish a strong Iberia presence. You will shape strategy, negotiate terms, and collaborate across lines of business.Compensaciones / Beneficios
- Develop and execute the Iberia Engineering market strategy (CAR/EAR) aligned with Continental Europe leadership
- Assess technical risk information to determine coverage, terms and pricing
- Negotiate insurance conditions with brokers and clients
- Ensure disciplined underwriting and portfolio management per guidelines
- Contribute to large and complex account discussions and multinational programmes
- Act as senior ambassador in the Iberia market, building broker, client and stakeholder relationships
- Drive new business development and retention through proactive engagement and strategic account management
- Strengthen broker positioning and visibility via targeted marketing and industry forums
- Oversee underwriting quality, governance, and portfolio balance across risk segments
- Provide guidance on complex risks,



major accounts, and global program structures
- Ensure underwriting documentation, data quality, and contract integrity meet standards
- Collaborate with other Lines of Business to drive cross-sell opportunities and align appetite
- Work with Claims, Risk Engineering, Distribution and internal partners to deliver seamless client experience
- Support regional initiatives, innovation projects and strategic developments
- Represent Sompo in high-level commercial negotiations, press engagements, and corporate communicationsResponsabilidades
- 10+ years of underwriting experience in Engineering insurance
- Deep expertise in large and complex Engineering risks
- Strong, established network within the Iberia broker and risk manager community
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- High integrity, emotional intelligence, and resilience
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and its impact on underwriting and business development
- Fluency in Spanish and English
