Overview Join Seqeras Unified Compute team as Staff Software Engineer to own low

- level cloud workloads.

You will work on Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched, shaping how scientific workloads run across multi-cloud environments.

This hands-on role combines OS-level work, performance optimization, and architectural leadership, with mentoring responsibilities.

You’ll drive reliability, testing, and observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale data-driven science.

- Design, build, and own low-level systems across Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched
- Write reliable, well-tested code in Go and C (with Rust/JVM where needed)
- Work close to the OS: FUSE, Linux namespaces, CRIU, process supervision, signaling
- Handle multi-cloud orchestration: provider abstractions (AWS, Azure, GCP),



autoscaling, spot-fault tolerance
- Drive performance engineering: chunked I/O, caching, buffer pools, bandwidth management
- Set technical direction and raise standards for testing, observability, and operations
- Mentor teammates and help onboard new engineers Requisitos principales
- Deep experience building production-grade systems software with technical ownership at Staff level
- Strong in Go and comfortable in C (or C++)
- Solid Linux internals and debugging at OS level
- Experience with distributed/cloud-native systems and cross-cloud failure modes
- Clear, well-structured, well-tested coding style; able to work independently
- Mentoring and onboarding
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments
- Strong communication and collaboration across teams
- Go * C (or C++)
- Rust (nice-to-have)
