Overview As Laboratory Manager, you will oversee operational management, stock, budget, and project administration within a collaborative research setting. You’ll work in Dr. Zorzano’s laboratory at the University of Barcelona, supporting DNA purification, PCR assays, and core lab activities.

This role combines administrative leadership with hands
-on scientific tasks to sustain project success under a La Caixa-funded initiative.

You will partner with IRB and UB administration to ensure compliant, efficient operations and impactful research outcomes.

- Stock and consumables control: manage reagent orders and daily lab materials to optimize resources
- Supplier relations: negotiate terms and resolve supplier issues
- Equipment maintenance: coordinate calibrations, preventive maintenance, and repairs
- Project financial management: monitor and control budgets for one or more projects




- Support for financial reporting: ensure expenses meet funding agency eligibility criteria
- Coordination with IRB and UB Administration: liaise with Grants Office, Finance/Purchasing, HR for purchases and reporting
- Laboratory work based on DNA purification and PCR assays Requisitos principales
- FP Superior qualification or university degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field
- Versatility to handle administrative and management duties
- Research experience is advantageous for understanding team needs
- Proficiency in advanced office software (Excel) for financial and inventory tracking
- Knowledge of English, Catalan, and Spanish
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous budgeting and reporting abilities
