Overview

As an Optimization Scientist at SITA, you will build and operate disruption-recovery optimization engines to automate airline recovery decisions. You’ll own the solver pipeline from formulation to production code, shaping solutions for real disruption cases in a globally deployed product (OCCam). You’ll collaborate with back-end and data teams to integrate outputs and continuously enhance optimization capabilities. This role blends mathematical rigor with production-oriented engineering to improve airline operations at scale.

Responsabilidades

- Own a disruption-recovery solver pipeline end-to-end, from mathematical formulation to production code
- Translate airline rules (crew legality, aircraft routing, passenger reaccommodation) into solver models
- Validate solutions against real disruption cases with Solutions Experts




- Manage solution quality and runtime KPIs, balancing accuracy and speed
- Extend solver capabilities and ship new optimization functionality
- Collaborate with Back-End and Data Engineering teams to integrate solver outputs into the live product
- Develop deep airline-operations knowledge to inform better formulations

Requisitos principales

- Strong foundation in mathematical optimization and operations research
- Experience with solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX or SCIP
- Proficient in Python and SQL; Git and production-ready coding practices
- Ability to translate complex business rules into algorithms
- Bridge between OR theory and production code, self-directed learning, and attention to detail
- Degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related field; MSc/PhD a plus
