Overview

As a Senior I Engineer at Back Market, you will help modernize a traditionally monolithic stack into distributed services, owning critical backend components. You will work across squads to deliver scalable, high-quality features in an agile, build-it-and-run-it environment. You’ll explore impactful technologies, mentor peers, and help mitigate chaos in complex systems. This role offers the chance to shape a mission-driven product at scale with cross-functional collaboration and global impact.

Responsabilidades

- Contribute to architecture design and improvements for quarter-focused projects and mission-critical areas
- Develop and maintain backend services in a microservices/distributed architecture
- Drive performance optimization, scalability, and reliable data handling




- Collaborate across squads to ensure aligned technical direction and release planning
- Participate in chaos mitigation and risk assessment for complex systems
- Explore and prototype technologies with potential impact for the team
- Support end-to-end product delivery with strong ownership and peer learning

Requisitos principales

- 5+ years backend development experience
- Strong system design skills
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems
- Deep understanding of data architecture and APIs
- Experience with performance optimization and scalability
- Solid frontend capabilities with modern JavaScript frameworks (experience gap tolerated when focusing on backend)
- End-to-end product thinking and ability to navigate ambiguity across technical domains
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- English proficiency for an international team
