Platform Engineer (Client Side), LEO Satellite Programme
Spain | Hybrid, minimum 3 days a week onsite | €500 to €800 per day | Multi-year contract
Most platform engineers only see one slice of a satellite’s life. Here you’ll see all of it.
You’d join our consultancy partner on the operator side of a European secure connectivity constellation, working on the LEO constellation.
You’d help write the RFP for the satellites and launch services. Then you’d follow the hardware through unit, subsystem and system reviews, the launch campaign, LEOP and in-orbit testing. If something goes wrong in orbit, you’ll help lead the investigation.
What’s in it for you
- A programme at the start.
You’ll shape decisions now rather than inherit them later.
- Client-side authority.
You’ll hold the manufacturers to account rather than being held to account.
- Autonomy.
You’ll report directly to the MD.
- Long-term security.
It’s a multi-year contract, at a day rate most perm salaries don’t match.
- English working language.
Spanish helps, but you don’t need it.
What you’ll need
- Around 10 years in satellite platform engineering, across procurement, manufacturing/AIT or in-orbit operations (GEO or LEO)
- Hands-on in-orbit testing experience
- Experience on large ESA or EU programmes, ideally at a prime
- A Master’s in aerospace, electrical engineering, physics or similar
If you’re working on platform engineering for a LEO satcoms programme now, 7 to 8 years could be enough.
What next?
Send your CV, ask a question, or reply with a good time for a 15-minute call. Not sure you’d fit? Ask anyway. And if the timing isn’t right, tell me what would make a move worth it.
