Investigate the security of practical implementations of quantum key distribution Protocols Functions to be performed: * Read scientific literature in the field of quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems. * Develop both analytical and numerical security tests of quantum key distribution protocols with a partial characterisation of the behaviour of their devices. * Perform numerical simulations on the performance (i.e. secret key rate versus distance) of these systems. * Participate in seminars and scientific meetings. * Write scientific articles.
