Experteer Overview
In this role, you will lead the OCC performance and continuous improvement across DS Smith’s European paper mill network. You will partner with mills and OCC specialists to translate data and technology insights into practical improvements, shaping both short-term gains and long-term technology investments. You’ll drive cross-site best practice, influence investment plans, and support major OCC preparation projects to enhance fibre yield, quality, capacity, and energy performance. This is a strategic technical leadership role with a strong focus on digitalisation and sustainable performance across a European network.

Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Lead the OCC performance agenda across the Paper division and identify opportunities for improvement with mills and OCC specialists
• Define and track KPIs using digital tools and data to monitor OCC performance across the network
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps and improvement opportunities in fibre yield, capacity, quality, reject disposal costs and energy




• Collaborate with local operations to assess current processes and identify practical improvement opportunities
• Support and follow up on PaperPro audits, turning findings into actionable plans
• Develop and implement improvement plans prioritised by impact, feasibility and value
• Share best practices across the division to scale successful approaches
• Provide technical support for major OCC preparation projects from concept to implementation
• Help develop long-term technology and investment plans with robust business cases for CAPEX
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to improve OCC performance and efficiency
• Engage with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure technology investments meet requirements
• Lead or support RFQ processes for major CAPEX projects and prepare comparative analyses
• Coordinate with factories, suppliers, and project teams to manage scope, timelines and budgets
