P Senior Research Engineer at Barcelona Supercomputing Center /pp Do you want to work on engineering solutions for exciting and challenging top-notch European projects related to process-based models to study Climate Change? /pp At the High-Performance Computing team of the Earth Sciences Department at BSC, we are looking for an engineer or a researcher to work in the development and improvement of climate applications. The tasks include: /pulli Develop and/or integrate new scientific features into the source code of the models used in the department, such as IFS /lili Validate the scientific correctness of the new developments /lili Measure the computational impact of the new developments to guarantee an efficient scalability /lili Close interaction with the Climate Variability and Change (CVC) and Atmospheric Composition (AC) groups, and external collaborators /li /ulpstrong Requirements /strong /pulli Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a closely related field. A Ph D in a related field is not essential but will be appreciated /lili Experience in scientific research, particularly in areas related to climate or ocean modelling /lili Experience in running scientific codes on large HPC systems /lili Excellent computing skills in high-level computer languages (especially Fortran or C/C++)
