CINBIO is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher in computational nanophotonics and material science to contribute to research modelling hybrid nanostructured photocatalysts.
We seek candidates with experience in computational modelling of nanostructured systems through ab initio or semiclassical methods, ideally with experience modelling some aspect of light-matter interaction.
The context of this project is the development of new theoretical methods to optimize photocatalytic strategies using nanostructures made with different materials, with the ultimate goal of efficiently using solar energy to drive chemical reactions.
The incoming researcher will work in a project with great scientific and technological potential, bridging research in physics and chemistry, so that they will interact and collaborate with a diverse range of researchers, both within CINBIO and internationally.

The selected candidate will join the TeamNanoTech research group (), in Biomedical Research Centre (CINBIO) (), and will work under the supervision of Lucas Vázquez Besteiro.
General requirements: A good level of English (written and spoken).
Capability of acquiring a visa for working in the EU.
Having a finished PhD degree by the starting date of the contract.
Desired background for candidates: Demonstrable research experience in modelling physical properties of nanostructures through analytic or numerical methods.
Experience with first-principles techniques, such as DFT and ideally also using post-DFT formalisms modelling excited states, will valued.
