Context And Mission The Single- and Multi-Agent Research (SMART) group focuses on researching, evaluating and implementing formally-grounded and verifiable methods and frameworks for understanding and designing intelligent agents, mainly but not limited to logical-symbolic, reinforcement learning and LLM-augmented (agentic) agents.
Our research group has been consistently developing contributions in the field of multi-agent systems from several perspectives, including efficient methods for combining symbolic and sub-symbolic forms of reasoning; scalable architectures for parallel distributed execution of large volumes of agents; mechanisms and languages for encoding, interpreting and analysing the effects of social values and norms; We are looking for a research engineer to support and lead a number of ongoing research projects in Artificial Intelligence.
These projects involve knowledge areas such as agents, explainability, autonomous decision-making, multi-agent coordination and communication, and AI systems in general,
