Broker Relationship Manager

We are currently looking for a Broker Relationship Manager to be based in Madrid on a full-time basis, reporting into the Branch Manager

Munich Re Risk Solutions Ireland, Spanish Branch is responsible for the whole relation for national and multinational customers and brokers based in Spain and Portugal. Main target is to maintain and expand the current very strong and profitable business relationships (Traditional & Non Traditional) through exploring, detecting customers’ needs and developing new realistic business initiatives or new business models with the brokers.

The Broker Relationship Manager should prioritize and coordinate all activities and initiatives with brokers and managing external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Managing all customers and brokers relationships. The role includes to define, in collaboration with the relevant Underwriting teams, a customer strategy and individual action plans, prioritization of different initiatives and planning of required resources (including underwriters and specialists).
- Developing and maintaining in-depth understanding of local and regional broker needs, thereby identifying customers’ key strategic priorities, growth areas, challenges and reinsurance buying motivation.




- Defining and implementing customers-specific sales strategies for our range of products and services, preparing high-quality and customers-specific sales presentations (pitch books)
- Lead negotiations with customers and brokers and closely coordinate renewal strategies together with the Underwriting teams.
- Build and manage Munich Re Specialty Global Markets relationships with all levels of stakeholders and units (internally and externally)
- Proactively identifying growth areas for Munich Re Specialty Integral Markets and generating new business opportunities with focus on profitable growth.
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
- Promote and maintain a professional, respectful and inclusive working environment, ensuring that any bullying, harassment, discrimination, violence or other serious non-financial misconduct is not tolerated and is escalated appropriately in line with Company policies, regulatory expectations and applicable conduct standards.

Knowledge And Skills
- Skills and experience in managing cross-departmental projects.
- +5 years of professional experience in similar functions.
- Very good understanding of primary insurance and reinsurance;
relevant underwriting know how, ideally in different lines of business.
- Strong data analytics and ability to understand fundamental performance metrics.
