Job Summary:

The Controls Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an integrated multi-site controls and automation solution spanning Supermicro’s general facilities for rack integration, burn-in, and cooling infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical execution (device connectivity, protocol configuration, database integration) with system-level architecture and design, bridging Rack Solutions, Facilities, Production, and IT teams to create a unified, scalable,



and data-driven controls environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

System Architecture & Integration
•Design and implement a multi-site controls architecture across Supermicro’s global facilities.
•Define network topology, redundancy, and high-availability requirements for all control nodes and servers.
•Develop and maintain standardized frameworks for BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, and OPC-UA communication layers.
•Ensure open, non-proprietary architecture to support integration with enterprise BMS, SCADA, and analytics tools.

Device Connectivity & Configuration
•Commission and configure sensors, meters, CDUs/CDMs, cooling-tower controllers, and other I/O devices on Supermicro’s secured network.
•Collaborate with IT to obtain and manage IP allocations, VLAN assignments, and data-security compliance for IoT and controls systems.
