Work on bioproduction and synthetic biology with a team that builds it into real systems, with your mornings, evenings and weekends free to enjoy Bali.

4–6 months · 25-hour week, 11 AM–5 PM · lunch Monday to Friday · unpaid · next start: 1 November 2026 (we hire on a rolling basis, later starts are possible)

What you will do

Support Seraph's duckweed research and cultivation work: planning and documenting experiments, tracking how duckweed grows and responds to water, nutrients, and light, analyzing data, and reviewing the literature to find where the science is thin. You'll work alongside engineers who combine AI, sensors, and biology to build an adaptive cultivation system. These are real projects, not exercises.

Who we are

Thirty years building companies across New York, London, and Tokyo, now operating from a 4,000 sqm campus in Canggu. $150M+ raised and deployed across energy, bioproduction, and AI infrastructure. As a Biology intern, you work with SERAPH, one of our companies.

SERAPH is adaptive AI-and-data system to grow duckweed outdoors, in real water and weather. The work spans water treatment, vision-based monitoring of live cultivation trays, and early pilot trials. Seraph is an early-stage team, so you help shape the work.

What you will leave with

- Hands-on experience in an early-stage duckweed cultivation project, from pilot trials to data analysis
- An internship certificate

- Full support with university requirements: we handle the paperwork and join meetings with your university
- An international community of interns and engineers
- A path to a full-time role across the group for strong interns

What it costs This internship is unpaid. Indonesian visa rules for internships require it, so we can't offer stipends or scholarships. You cover your own flights, visa, and living costs. Lunch is on us Monday to Friday, and rooms on campus are available at competitive rates. Living in Bali typically costs about €500–1,000 per month, depending on your lifestyle.

Who you are

- Studying, or recently graduated in, biology, plant science, biotechnology, environmental science, chemistry, or a related field
- Lab or coursework experience, and comfort working with data (Excel is enough; Python or R is a plus)
- Careful, curious, reliable, and ready to work on-site in Bali for 4–6 months

You don't need experience with duckweed or every method. If you're curious about plants, water, and how biology works outside the lab, apply. This internship can count toward a university requirement.

How to apply

Apply directly on LinkedIn, or email your CV to [email protected]. If you have a lab report, a thesis, or a research project you're proud of, add it, but it's optional. We reply within 3–5 days.
