Company Description

GIA Institute is a European fundraising firm with over 10 years of experience specialising in European grants. It supports organisations across the whole EU funding cycle: it finds the right calls, builds consortia from its network across Europe, prepares and resubmits proposals, and manages funded projects, including compliance, reporting and dissemination. Its work is backed by in-house, state-of-the-art tools and a senior, client-oriented team of Innovation Grant Architects.

Role Description The Innovation Grant Architect is a remote contract role responsible for designing and structuring grant-funded innovation initiatives from concept through execution. Day-to-day tasks include understanding EU grant calls, defining project objectives and architecture, and aligning technical and operational requirements with funding criteria and the project consortium's resources. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate strategic goals into clear architectural designs, using internal tools to produce an outstanding grant proposal, and managing the required documents for EU grant applications.

The Innovation Grant

Architect will also coordinate timelines, dependencies, and risk assessments to ensure proposed projects are feasible, scalable, and aligned with the call's requirements. Regular responsibilities include preparing technical narratives, refining solution architectures based on feedback,

and meeting regularly with the project consortium during grant proposal preparation and review phases.

- Strong architectural design skills to structure complex, multi-component innovation projects.
- Experience with collaborative software and advanced user of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

- Background in engineering, computer science, or a related field (digital, materials, energy, agriculture/food, bioengineering, robotics, medical, etc.). An advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
- Prior experience with innovation programs, research grants, or technology-focused funding initiatives is an advantage.
- Availability for weekly interactions with consortia and the GIA Institute's team.
