About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Merchant/Trader to join our commercial trading team!

The successful candidate will support the trading team in monitoring domestic and international commodity markets, identifying commercial opportunities, executing transactions, and managing the physical flow of commodities from origin to destination.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment, combining market analysis, commercial activity, logistics and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Trading and Commercial Activity

- Account management.
- Support senior traders in the negotiation and execution of physical commodity transactions.
- Assist with pricing, offers, bids and market indications.
- Maintain close contact with customers, suppliers, brokers and other market participants.
- Monitor open positions, contracts and price exposure.
- Attend industry events when needed
- Progressively take responsibility for bigger transactions and trading decisions

Market Analysis and Intelligence

- Monitor local and regional markets (Supply and Demand)
- Follow futures markets, basis, freight, currencies, weather, crop conditions, trade flows, inventories and supply/demand fundamentals.
- Track relevant developments in major producing and consuming regions, including the US, South America and Europe.
- Participate in group market discussions (international)
- Identify potential trading opportunities and discuss them with senior traders.

Physical Execution and Logistics

- Follow the execution of physical contracts being the link with the Execution team.
- Coordinate with logistics, operations and counterparties regarding, trucks,



storage, loading and unloading.
- Monitor shipment schedules, quantities, quality specifications and contractual obligations.
- Monior and solve potential operational or contractual issues affecting trades.

Risk Management, Position Control and reporting

- Support in the maintenance of records of transactions.
- Monitor positions, prices, basis, freight and FX exposure.
- Support the reconciliation of trading positions, P&L; and inventory.
- Support to Ensure that transactions are executed within the company's risk and credit parameters.
- Escalate significant market, operational or counterparty risks promptly.
- Continuously improve tools and processes used by the trading team.

Required Skills & Experience
- 0-3 years of experience in commodities, trading, agriculture, brokerage, logistics, banking or a related field.
- Customer focus and proven relationship building record
- Strong interest in financial and physical commodity markets.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills but comfortable with uncertainty
- Strong computer skills; experience with market-data platforms is a plus.
- Ability to dig into details while understand and analyze large amounts of information and translate it into actionable conclusions.




- Strong commercial instinct and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Result oriented and hunting desire for value.
- Fluent English and Spanish (others like French, Catalan, Portuguese, are a plus)
- Willingness to travel when required.
